What actually moves the number
The part is the biggest factor, but not the only one. Access matters: a dishwasher wedged tight under a granite counter overhang takes longer to pull than one with standard clearance. Age matters too. Older units sometimes need a part that isn't common stock, which pushes the job into the 1-to-3-business-day ordering window instead of same-visit completion.
Water-related failures, ice makers, dishwashers, and washer inlet valves, often run toward the higher end of their range here specifically because of how hard the local water is. A scaled valve isn't always a clean swap. Sometimes the line feeding it needs clearing or replacing too, and that's additional labor we quote before starting, not after.
How we get from a range to a real number
A quote over the phone is a starting point built from the brand, appliance type, and symptom you describe. The exact number gets confirmed on-site once we've actually opened the unit and identified the failed part. If the fix turns out simpler than expected, the price comes down to match. If it's more involved, for example a scaled line behind a valve rather than just the valve itself, we tell you that before we proceed, not on the invoice afterward.
Stated limit
These prices are for standard residential units. Commercial-grade equipment, three-phase machines, and specialty built-in units outside standard sizing get quoted separately after we see the unit, not off this table.
Payment and terms
Payment is due at completion of the repair, cash, card, or check. We don't offer financing or payment plans. The $79 service call applies whether or not you move forward with the repair. If you approve the repair, that $79 comes off the total, so the diagnostic effectively costs nothing when we do the work.
Same-day versus scheduled windows
Same-day dispatch doesn't carry a rush surcharge on our end for calls booked before noon. What changes the timing is truck position and whether parts are on hand, not a pricing tier. If you call at 4pm needing same-day and the closest truck is finishing a job across town, we'll tell you straight whether that's realistic or whether first-thing tomorrow is the honest answer. We'd rather tell you that on the phone than promise a window we can't hit.
For oilfield households working hitch schedules, we hold early morning and evening slots specifically so a technician back from days doesn't have to burn a shift day waiting on a midday appointment. Ask for one of those windows when you call or fill out the form below.
What a written quote actually includes
Every quote we give on-site breaks out the part cost and the labor separately, not a single bundled number. That means if you want to compare our number against getting the part yourself, you can see exactly what labor costs on its own. We stand behind the repair regardless of how the quote's itemized, but we'd rather show our work than ask you to trust a lump sum.
Questions we get on this call
Is the $79 service call really waived, or is that a bait number?
It's a straight waiver. If you approve the repair we diagnose, the $79 comes off your total invoice. If you decide not to proceed, for any reason, the $79 covers the diagnostic time and truck roll, full stop.
Do you charge more for evening or early-morning appointments?
No. We don't run a separate after-hours surcharge tier for the early and late slots we hold for oilfield schedules during our normal Monday-through-Saturday hours. Straight rush fees only apply outside those hours, and we'd quote that specifically if it came up.
Why do water-related repairs sometimes cost more than the table shows?
Because the line feeding a scaled valve sometimes needs clearing or replacing too, not just the valve itself. We check that before quoting and tell you if it's a two-part fix rather than quoting the valve alone and adding a surprise later.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash, card, or check at completion of the job. No financing or payment plans, and no deposit required to book a diagnostic visit.
